Description
Takahashi brings your sushi order right to your plate by way of an unlikely train theme. Either sit at the bar and grab the plates as an electric train chugs by, or snatch one of the few booths in the back. Forgetful service can be hit-or-miss, but at the end of the meal, you get what you pay for: inexpensive sushi in a no-frills setting.
The train showcases an array of sushi standards as it toots by: edamame, California rolls, hamachi rolls, and more. Make sure to grab the spicy tuna roll, which features a tangy, special hot sauce or the unagi, tender river eel served sushi-style. For non-sushi eaters, the star of Takahashi's menu is the shrimp tempura: crispy and light and served with a miso-soy sauce. Also worth a try is the house yakisoba served with chicken and vegetables in a light-syrupy teriyaki sauce.
